What “without a subscription” means

Paid storage tiers cover one year. They do not renew automatically. If you want to keep the data cube online for longer, you actively renew it. Without renewal, it is deleted after expiry.

The free starting tier includes up to 1 GB for 30 days. For this tier, you can extend storage to one year for €1.99. Other sizes and current amounts are listed in the pricing section. Time matters as much as size: choose both for the folder you actually want to store.

A practical use case

You have finished a project with photos, written documents and a final presentation. You want to keep an encrypted copy online. Collect the finished files in one folder, create the data cube with LockerCube and choose the matching storage tier.

Make a short note of what the cube contains and when its storage ends. A label such as “Garden project, final files, October version” is easier to understand later than “new backup 2”. This is an example for your own records, not a required naming format.

Keep track of four things

1. Content and size. Remove unnecessary duplicate files from your prepared folder and decide which version you want to keep.
2. The matching password. It is not stored on the server. Another download will not help if the password is missing.
3. A working route back. Open the finished cube once and check one of the files inside.
4. The expiry date. Decide before the storage period ends whether to renew or keep the files you need somewhere else in time.

Check that it fits your work

LockerCube is a digital locker for an encrypted copy. If your main need is to work together on files that change constantly, check which features that requires before choosing a tool. Keeping a fixed copy and editing files together are different needs.
